I have seen these in power company utility trucks, my guess is something to do with residential side of power distribution.

Looks like a copper rivet for some tack or something or something made from brass/bronze

Looks like a solid rivet to me. The 12 on the head probably means it measures 12/32 diameter

Yeah, I don’t know much about linemen stuff, but I have seen items similar in design. Never really grabbed one to look at, so I don’t know if they have numbers on them.

I can check in a couple days when I get to Philly

That was my WAG as well but all the #12 rivets I could find had a much smaller dia. shank.

The non-rimmed end seems to be crimped(hard to make out)? Could it be a blank for a nail gun?

I've seen similar things years ago on railroad ties.
