Any particular rifle recommended? Will an off-the-shelf AR-15 suffice?

Any safe rifle is OK. The best choice is something that feeds from mags or clips though, due to the fact that reloads under significant time pressure are part of the COF. Also, we strongly recommend some sort of adjustable 2-point sling... preferably a GI shooting sling like a 1907 or M1/M14 web sling. An AR-15 is a perfect rifle for the course. I just got registered. Wanting to bring my 10/22 for the 25m and my AR for the long range. About how many rounds do I need for each? Also are the magpul flip up sights adequate or would you recommend something else?

Excellent! You probably need about 300 rounds for 25m. At the full distance range, we are going to shoot a COF that requires 60 rounds. However, you will want to zero the rifle at 25m beforehand. You should be fine with 100 rounds.

Magpul sights are just fine. They are click adjustable for windage and elevation, which is the main thing you want.

This time we will be using their new classroom range, which has a 25m firing line with a heated and air conditioned classroom right on the range.
