If your close to the metro you can swing by, ive got a fiber scope we can check to see if its a live round with. Then you can drive it out if it aint. Might save ya few bucks

It's really not that big of a deal or an uncommon occurrence. If you want to bring it to FBT I'll break the bolt loose for you.

not yet, to be honest, I just don't have the confidence that I'm not going to break something. It's going to a gunsmith tomorrow....think it's better to let a professional handle it. We will see how it goes.

You can do it. You need to do it. It's a basic carbine malfunction clearance drill. It'll be a great learning experience.

Safe direction, straight up and down on that buffer tube. It'll work.

There's nothing to the mortaring drill, it's simple and effective... just don't forget to collapse the stock.

I had this happen once... had no idea what to do. FBT mortar'd it for me. I was amazed, but I'll do it myself next time.

I have had to do that with my 308 AR several times ,when the case maybe just a little out of spec and the bolt will not go forward the last 1/8" .

update: I decided not to take it to the gunsmith, grow a pair and go for it. Just as everyone said, no big deal. Very simple and effective. Now I know how to handle it if it happens again. Thanks again for the help, everyone here at this community forum is always so helpful and friendly.
