I stopped using Armslist once they started charging to use the site.
I made several deals, buy and sell, on the old Armslist. Never had a problem.
They went to pay to play and I got hit with 2 scammers. Haven't been there in years.
Same with GunBroker. If I was hot for a specific gun, I would check availability. But, there isn't anything particular I covet. I get enough temptation to spend $$$ in the classifieds here.
IF armslist would change to pay per listing, I would probably go back.
