retroactive ban= civil war
If they decide on a 10 round round limit, how does that affect a magazine used for 458 SOCOM? A 10 round 458 SOCOM magazine will hold 30 rounds of 5.56. These eftards just dont think things through...
They have never passed an all-out literal gun grab like in other countries, where they actually confiscate banned guns... they have always either just banned the further import, manufacture, or sale on the civilian market, or required registration, licensure, and fees to have certain things. That will likely be the blueprint for any future proposed legislation. I really don't think outright confiscation would fly in this country. There are enough people who would draw the line there and resist with force so as to make it too dangerous... plus, if they confiscate, the government is constitutionally required to pay just compensation to everyone they take property from. That could be an expensive proposition, and would probably be politically unworkable with all the controversy over the budget.
Just a $ 500 inital registration fee and few hundred dollars a your to own a controled firearm or mag ( as in full auto registarion ). Maybe a yearly required background check. You can require insurance on a vehicle ( or health insurance ) so how about insurance to own a controled firearm. Many ways to control ownership and they will all be up for consideration now and next time and the time after.
Required health care insurance was not expected and it is legal now. You had best think something is going to happen and it will not be good.
