Live weight was 288 and 298. It sure bulked them up. The pork chops are huge. Marbling is decent but they’re definitely lean overall. The bacon and ham is insane.

I was really happy with them especially for 7 months. At the end, I dialed in the automatic feeder so they weren’t wasting any.

For cheap feeder pigs, they were awesome. We’re raising 6-8 more this fall, but I have a breeder with landrace and tamworth specifically bred for meat.

As a guy who worked in the meat industry- you are money ahead just watching the sales and loading up- Crest often has loins for $2- @.50 range on an everyday basis right now- there are a couple dozen chops and the ends make roast or sweet/sour pork, etc- Buts are sometimes $1.50 lb- ribs at Aldi were $1.89 yesterday- great prices on bacon and sometimes you can catch hams for the right money.
By the time you feed- care for and repair everything they tear up, you will pay a lot more raising you own. Some folks like it- I had to do it growing up, so it does nothing for me. Just my 2 cents worth.
