So I can just take off in my car with some cash and the required documentation and bring home an M1 garand & carbine?!!

YEP!!!! Or you can print all the documents from their web site, send it off in the mail with your money, and your gun arrives on your doorstep, no dealer transfers, no other papers to fill out CMP does it all for you!!

Its more fun to go to the store, the history in there just about knocks you down when you walk in!!
