Mitch Long said, "They jumped out with guns and and my wife screamed at me and said 'They've got a gun, get out of here!' and so I peeled out to get out of here and the guy shoots a round through the back of my window and it's only by the grace of God that me and my wife are alive right now."

Police arrived and arrested 30-year-old Jack Lawson for assault with a deadly weapon.

Lawson has a concealed carry permit and told officers he thought the shooting was justified.

MSgt. Gary Knight, OKC Police, said "He thought the other person had used some form of deadly force on him by pulling out in front of him. He felt it was a life-threatening situation for him."

We're not sure if the cat ever made it to the vet.

Instead, his owner went to the hospital for a gunshot wound.
