My brother from another mother called me last night with good news and bad news. :lookaroun

The bad news is, he's in the early stages of prostate cancer. The good news is, they think they caught it in time before it started to spread.

The Dr said he could take chemo and deal with all the related crap that comes with it. Or they can cut it out surgically and he'll be down for a few weeks.

Well, it didn't take him long to choose the lesser of two evils. They said they would let him know very soon when the procedure will be.

This guy is the husband of my wife's BFF all the way back to grade school. I first met him when they started dating in 1988.

Over the years, we've went to ballgames together, vacations together, always spend holidays and various other things together.

We've shared the births of our kids, deaths of our parents and anything else you could imagine.

So if you could find time to say a little prayer for him and his family, I sure would appreciate it.
:thanku:
Was proton not an option? The results that I've seen there are amazing. Urologists don't always offer it, but I'd highly recommend finding out if it was an option.

Many, many thanks to everyone. This dude is getting a raw deal...not that cancer picks certain folks, or that he is better than anyone else, but anyway, this guy is so undeserving.

He has spent his entire career helping his fellow man in emergency management. He was at the Murrah Building, he was at Katrina, he begged to go to NY during 9/11, but he was denied and he was the ram rod of the covid treatment center in Ada.

He's a helluva guy with an awesome family and definitely one of us. He's more American than baseball, hot dogs and apple pie.

His father was a reserve deputy for years and when he passed in 2015 (pancreatic cancer) he gave his son his duty weapon, a Smith and Wesson model 19-3, 2.5 incher, and then he gave it to me. He said, "dad loved you like a son. It's a cop's gun and a cop should have it." It's one of my most prized possessions.

So again, I thank you, my OSA FAMILY.

:thanku: :thanku: :thanku:
