Thank you both for this advice and the recommendation of the Curad band-aids.

My house companion is a very playful kitty,,,
Both of my forearms are dotted with tiny wounds.

Often they take hours to clot,,,
A regular styptic pencil does nothing for them.

Thanks again.

But,,,
I luvs my Kitty-Kat!

Jamie Lee not only keeps me company,,,
She gives me a purpose in life taking care of her.

She helps me get to sleep at night when she curls up in my armpit,,,
And she amuses me to no end with her daily Zoomie Antics.

I'll just buy a lot of those good bandages.

Yep,,,
I carry those in my "possibles" bag,,,
That's the tote bag that I started carrying after my last surgery.

It has everything that I could possibly need,,,
Just in case a sneeze goes wrong,,,
Or I scratch myself.

I did buy a spray bottle of "Curad QUICKSTOP Bleeding Control Spray",,,
It's worthless if sprayed directly on an active bleed,,,
The blood flow seems to wash it away.

But if you spray it on the gauze/Band-Aid,,,
Then it works very well indeed.

I was very tired all last week and especially Sat & Sun,,,
Monday morning I was a bit out of breath after my morning cardio-stretch workout.

Tuesday I started to do my workout but got out of breath very quickly,,,
Like an idiot I didn't go in to the ER until early Wednesday afternoon,,,
My breathing had gone from breaths to gasps and panting,,,
Just walking to the bathroom started it up.

So I called my life-line friend and he took me in to the ER,,,
By that time I was just panting like a dog,,,
Barely able to breathe at all.

They immediately had me chew a handful of aspirin,,,
Then sent me for a CT scan.

They found two large clots,,,
One in each lung.

Thankfully my normal cardiologist was on duty,,,
By 3:30 PM I was in the Cath Lab undergoing a clot extraction.

It took them almost 2 hours to remove all of the blockage,,,
But the good news is that the relief was immediate,,,
I could breathe easily again.

They showed me the clots they removed and it freaked me out,,,
It looked like they removed two damned tarantulas from my poor old body.

Now here is the weird part,,,
These clots didn't form over a long period of time,,,
My Doc thinks they formed over a two week period at most.

He asked me if I had experienced any upper body pain in the last month or so,,,
I replied that yes, I had some bad pain in my left upper arm,,,
This started about 3-weeks ago and never abated.

Of course he can't be certain but he thinks I had a clot in my arm,,,
That then migrated into my lungs through a common vein.

They put me on a strong blood thinner and my shoulder no longer hurts,,,
It's amazing how body parts that seem totally unrelated,,,
Can interact with each other in very bad ways.

Anyways, they let me go home Thursday afternoon,,,
I'm now on a heavy duty blood thinner for life,,,
But am now breathing normally and easily.

He said I can resume normal activities in two weeks,,,
The major distress now is that danged incision in my groin,,,
That's the large vein they went through to get the probe into my lungs.

He warned me to take it VERY easy for a week,,,
As that's the vein that can cause a total bleed-out in minutes if opened.

So I'm taking his directions very seriously,,,
For two weeks nothing more strenuous that Netflix and bathroom trips.

So here I am,,,
Happily still above ground.

Thank the powers that be for modern medical procedures.

Vaxxed and boosted? Right around the 50 min mark they discuss the strange rise in massive clotting. Some of these government scientist need to live in government housing for many years.
