Anyone here own a Chevrolet Z71 and if so, how well does it do offroad? I'm not looking for Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge, just simply how does it do on the trail. I have a '09 Crew Cab Z71 and haven't had it on the trail but would like to....Also post pics if you would like of your truck....I don't care what brand. I love offroad pics...:w000t:

I recently got rid of mine, but I had a '04 extended cab Z71 it had a 6" SkyJacker suspension lift and a 3" body lift and 33" Super Swamper Radial TSL's. It work great off-road. I didn't really do any trails, but in mud it was amazing. wish I still had itt.

I have an '08 Z71 crewcab - currently has 31K miles - 95% hiway. I use it in the fields around my place and in the mountains around Honobia - no complaints and everything works like it is supposed too. Really hasn't seen any hard use, though. My only concern is with it being so long and seems to sit pretty low when going over uneven stuff. I did take it through the one spot on our hunting lease that I was worried about with no problems. Gets about 18 - 19 mpg on the hiway.

This is my 11th Chevy or GMC pickup. :thumb:

I used to own a '97 Jeep TJ. It had a Rancho Rockcrawler lift, with a Rubicon Express bugdet boost on top....I had 33" BFG AT's, Warn front winch bumper, with a 9000 Milemarker winch, Genuine Gear quick lock up front and lockright locker in the rear, and Rancho 9000x shocks on all 4 corners.....Man I miss that Jeep, it went everywhere.......:hithead:

it really depends on what you mean by trail.. if you mean hitting up TSOB in clayton then no... none of them will be worth a crap, get a jeep...

if you mean will it get you t a fishing hole? probably...

mines a 94, it has the 3/4 running gear and towing package.. i use it around the farm and it does just dandy.. but i wouldn't take it on a trail ride..

I have a '99 Z71 extended cab, bone stock. It does better offroad than I would expect from a stock truck, but the front end is too low for sure. I've also lost a couple of fog lamps in muddy spots. It's too long to ever be used as a serious off-roader. Bottom line, it's good enough to hunt with but get a Wrangler if you want serious offroad performance.

Here's proof it's a Z71 :D

But it'll go just about anywhere! I don't have any off road pics as I'm always inside and passengers balk at having to cross streams and mud holes before taking my picture going thru it. :D
