Nuh uh.

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s2c1a3.htm

2185 On Sundays and other holy days of obligation, the faithful are to refrain from engaging in work or activities that hinder the worship owed to God, the joy proper to the Lord's Day, the performance of the works of mercy, and the appropriate relaxation of mind and body.123 Family needs or important social service can legitimately excuse from the obligation of Sunday rest. The faithful should see to it that legitimate excuses do not lead to habits prejudicial to religion, family life, and health.

Nuh uh, what?

The "important social service" is true. Police and firemen, for example, are allowed to work on Sunday because they provide an important service to society. Working at a fast food restaurant or retail clothing store? Not so much.

Hi,

From what I've read this is an attack on CFA from the GLBT groups because the owner of the CFA gave a speech to a baptist convention stating that he supports the biblical view of the family and marraige. Well, duh. This is an owner who is so committed to his beliefs that he gives up what is likely many millions of dollars a year in profit by remaining closed on Sunday. The CFA owner DID NOT come out with an anti-gay commercial to the public. He DID NOT change policies in the stores to discriminate. He merely stated his opinion to people of like beliefs. What the GLBT groups are really ticked about is that CFA is so profitable and that they have the money and power to promote their beliefs.

My problem with the GLBT groups is their tactics. They can't simply agree to disagree with others who aren't 100% on their agenda, they use political correctness to bully, villify, and label anyone who isn't 100% onboard with them as an intolerant bigot. You would think since they are so anti-bullying that you wouldn't see this type of bullying out of them, but you'd be wrong. They are anti-freedom.

What we are seeing today is that people have been putting up with this crap and bullying tactics for years and are completely sick of it. The GLBT picked the wrong guy to pick on because there is absolutely no way this guy is going to bend for them. He has every right to his beliefs and he also has every right to use his money to promote them just as the GLBT has a right to use their money to promote their ideas.

And yes, they can continue to threaten with their kiss kiss day, but it is only going to make them look more like the bad guy here and bolster more support against them. I hope there are plenty of police officers on hand to haul them off private property when asked to leave for behaving inappropriately.

I've got no problem with people living their lives anyway they like so long as it doesn't encroach on the freedoms of others. Why do they think they have a right to encroach on others freedom to believe differently?

Thanks,

Alan

The wife and I drove to Stillwater to eat there this afternoon. When we got there people were lined up out the door and the drive through was long. After working in this heat all day I didn't feel like standing out in the heat any more . So we ate someplace else. We didn't see any of the Westboro Baptist Chruch people there.

Then you haven't seen everything.

Multiple elected officials are calling for bans on Chick Fil A opening new locations in their cities. This is unconstitutional in that the government is basically penalizing an individual for expressing his personal opinion. That is an infringement on his right to speak. "Either keep your mouth shut, or we're going to shut your business down".

That is why i said "Less the dumbass mayors who want to keep his restaurants out, which i have an issue with." in an earlier post. It's NIMBY grandstanding and not really that different than politicians wanting to keep strip clubs or such out of their town.

I think the only issue with this whole nonsense is what the mayors have threatened to do. It isn't right and is complete crap.

It's hate on one side and hate on the other. Both sides feeling persecuted by their ignorant enemy. There are real issues out there and this isn't one of them.
