Add to it the pastor's statements that Chief Bryan told him recently this last year had been the happiest of his marriage so far ...

Yeah, cuz he thought the divorce was gonna be finalized. The last year of my marriage will probably be the happiest too!

In all seriousness, it does make one wonder how she could do that regardless of how the marriage was going. I mean, wouldnt divorce have been easier than a life in jail?

She must have thought there was more money in life insurance, another theory would be a lover on the side. Its odd to hear about the whole liver deal too, I hope that had nothing to do with anything other than saving a life.

Sadly as long as she is living, she will always be in a better situation than her victim. It sucks that it has to be that way.
