The people I've talked to that have done it used the plain ol' Harbor Freight-type paint powder and the procedure I posted above.
Yep Harbor Freight powder coat for less than 7 bucks and a toaster oven.
I just took fresh made lead bullets that were not touched by oily hands and put about 25 of them into a plastic cottage cheese container with a little powder coat poured onto them say 1/2 teaspoon and I cut up about 20 small 1" squares of walmart plastic bags tossed then in also.. stuck the lid on and swirled and rolled around the bullets in the container.
Let it set for 1 minute and opened it up and plucked the bullets out with tweesers.
Placed them on the aluminum rack and into the preheated toaster oven for 20 minutes.
Let cool and tried to remove the standing bullets from the pan.
Yea I now know why people use non stick aluminum foil.
Those bullets are stuck chuck.
Here is what I noticed though.
I cast this batch of bullets on the soft side and you can easily scrape lead from the non coated bullet with your fingernail.
You can't scrape anything from the coated one.
Today is my first attempt at powdercoating.
Off to the store to get some non stick foil

What's the purpose of the plastic bag pieces?
To create static electricity inside the plastic container to make the powder coat stick to the bullets.
Gotcha. So, you just dump the raw powder in with the bullets? No mixing with acetone or MEK, like the Hi-Tek Supercoat?
I just got my shipment of Bayou Bullets in today so Ill see how well they work some time this week.
As for powder coating, Im not sure how the best way to do bullets would be. I used to do actual powder coating for a little side money. Wheels and motorcycle parts and such. Im not sure how to get a consistent complete coating on bullets.
Oh, and yeah, when powder cures and cools, it is very much stuck.

Mine are supposed to be here today. I'm already planning a trip to OKC area within the next few days. If the Harbor Freight store on Reno has the powder coat paint in stock, I think I'll pick some up to try it. I may still buy some of the Hi-Tek also just to try/compare. Sounds like the powder coat will be simpler and less messy.
Too bad your not closer. I have some sitting on a shelf right here.
They had the red in stock on the shelf when I got mine.. do not get black.

My hands are dry all the time and I washed and dried them on the last 2 batches and picked up the bullets with my fingers and placed them on the cooking sheet with foil.
Get this my fingers are now covered in powder coat .. some bullets had nose space that did not have the powder on them..I touched the nose with my finger and it covered the empty space.
Almost too easy.
My buddy came by and tried to scratch the cooked on stuff off. Not happening.
I had a hammer on the floor he whacked the bullet 3 times and turned it into a pancake the powder coating is still attached.
