Made some deer fajitas last night. Got deer chili and deer stew canned from a few months ago. I need some Indian food though. Drove to OKC yesterday, all set for some Sheesh Mahal. Got done visiting at the hospital and was ready for some goat curry.
I like to use a cup of chopped cilantro and an onion in mine. My step Dad likes to make his corn bread with his oversized waffle maker! (add jalapeno's and extra shredded cheese)
Hearty feel good comfort food during cold weather is awesome!
I made knoephla (pronounced “neff-la”) soup Sunday night. I’ve nicknamed it “coma soup”. One bowl and everyone is down for the count for at least a hour or overnight if it’s dinner lol
When we had big holiday gatherings my mom would make me my own pumpkin pie because she knew I would most likely eat a whole pie before the day was over.
Cubed a chunk of sirloin, added carrots, celery, onion, mushrooms, baby red potatoes and a bag of wide egg noodles.
A qt of beef broth in a 6 qt pan. Pot was full, until the cornbread got ready.
One more lunch and we will be finished.
Cooked up a shank ham, got the ham sliced off the bone and will use the bone for a pot of butter beans.
I've been eating a big bowl of beans every morning. I can't wait until lunch to dig into them.
I usually make jalapeno, cheddar cheese cornbread but the store was out of cornbread fixins and eggs were seven dollars a dozen anyway so I'm doing without but these beans are so good that it doesn't really bother me.
Wife had butterfly porkchops and sweet potatoes cooking when I got home from work. It was great, but stew, porkchops, roast, etc....ain't really on my preferred diet list. I'm gonna have to haul her to the Indian or Thai place tonight I think. (although I did taste habanero in my porkchops...she knows what I like)
