Ok quick question. I'm in the service field of work and don't know where i will end up throughout the day. Your house my house downtown buildings. My issue is i can end up at a school or college campus. I'm smart enough to know there is no carry on school grounds or anything close to it. Am i better off locking it up in the Truck and going about my business? Or whats my best option? I'm not gonna go turn my gun in to the school cause i can be there 5 mins or 5 days. I am outside and away from students and buildings. So help me out as i would like to not have to leave my gun at home everyday.

I believe that SDA would say you need to leave it home.
It's okay to have in your car if you're dropping a kid off.
But you can't get out and leave it in your vehicle, locked or unlocked.
And obviously you can't carry it on school property.

When I said "leave it in the truck" I was assuming he would NOT be parking on school property. Guess I didn't make that real clear ... sorry ...

So i really need to drive the 30 minutes home to drop it off then 30 back to the school to be there for 10 minutes? Its like yesterday i was at a school for 30mins and just drove in from the lake. I guess i wasted my money getting my permit if i need to leave it at home 7 days a week. Kind of defeats the purpose of a conceal carry. Also are knives illegal to have on school grounds?

Now your beginning to understand how everyone who works at a school feels.

Also I'm just posting what I understand of the statute.
And how I percieve it.
I'm only responsible for me, so to each your own.
I prefer to follow my understanding of the law.
It seemed pretty black and white to me.

Lone exceptions is if you have a police commission or you're teaching a CCW class at CareerTech.
