Just don't park on school property if you have to go to a school. There's usually somewhere close enough to a school you can park.

I'm pretty sure you can leave it in your vehicle at a university/college though. I need to look it up to be sure.

Now your beginning to understand how everyone who works at a school feels.

While i get that i don't work at a school or even for the school 95% of the time. Most schools i work for have a property manager and that's who i work for. They wonder why there are school shootings. Cause they can't protect themselves so it makes for an easy target. The school i was at yesterday is actually where i went and the parents voted some years ago to take the guns away from the security guards and give them pepper spray.

I have a under-seat lock box that i bolted to the floor via the chassis bolts for the seat. Guns go in there anytime I am on the unlawful carry property and as soon as I am leaving, they're back on my hip. Seeing as the school I am attending is in a very low-income area and on my daily commutes we see drug deals, crack-addicts, etc I will not drive here w/o guns.

Also, as i understand, under part of Oklahoma law you are allowed to carry guns onto school / gov't property unless specifically marked if the guns are left in locked vehicles.

Park off campus and leave it in the truck K-12, if a college then leave it in the truck.

Can't really do that most i work on are 10+ acre sites and i need parts, tools, ect out of the truck at any given point. Maybe i should fire all my school customers. Then again there would go 100+k of money every year. I guess i refuse to be the next or a victim at all.

I don't think this is correct.
They tried to pass a law last year and the libotards submarined it.

Once again I am no expert, read the law yourself and then you'll know for yourself.

So i really need to drive the 30 minutes home to drop it off then 30 back to the school to be there for 10 minutes? Its like yesterday i was at a school for 30mins and just drove in from the lake. I guess i wasted my money getting my permit if i need to leave it at home 7 days a week. Kind of defeats the purpose of a conceal carry. Also are knives illegal to have on school grounds?

No, just don't park on school property. It would be easier to walk across the street then drive home. Downside is you might have to carry your tools farther.
I carry 99% of the time. If I have to go to a school function. I secure my firearm in the car & park off campus. If you are worried about theft, get a lock box that locks to the frame under your front seat.

Life is full of compromises. I NEVER let these little rules influence me into NOT carrying. Same story at work. Its locked up in my vehicle. As soon as I'm back in the car, I'm carrying.

If you are going to carry everywhere you legally can you need to invest in a lock box for your vehicle. That way you can secure your weapon in your vehicle those few times you can't carry. A school is the only place you cannot even have it in your vehicle. Like I said its easy enough to park across the street. Govt building you just can't carry inside. Secured in your vehicle is OK. As for the gun buster signs, concealed is concealed. Worst thing that can happen is they think they know you are carrying and ask you to leave, if you refuse then its trespassing and its on you. Either choose not to give those places your business or ignore the signs and stay concealed.

When I said "leave it in the truck" I was assuming he would NOT be parking on school property. Guess I didn't make that real clear ... sorry ...

Correct K-12 or vo-tech don't park on property and leave it in a truck. That is a felony right there.

I work for a school district, thankfully I can park off property at our district office and walk in about the same distance as parking in my spot. I have had to go to other buildings in the past and flat out told my boss I have to go home first because where I was being sent I couldn't park off campus.

Because I am a district employee I have even stricter restrictions than just what the law says, for example I am not allowed to have ammo in my truck on campus either... board policy for employee's, so it has just become easier to not park in my spot.

To answer your question landman the statutes specifically state the only exception to k12 and votech felony charges are if you are dropping off or picking up a student and do not leave your vehicle.

That's the way I remember it.
And the exception of Police and CCW instructors at Vo-Tech (CareerTech).
