Not trying to drag this off topic but at a college it is legal to have your gun locked in your truck? I go to tcc north campus on monday nights and i have been leaving my gun at home which i really hate because of being in that part of town.

Just because you can't carry a firearm on school property doesn't mean you can't be protected in some form or another. Your carrying tools with you correct? I dont' know the rules on having a knife on school grounds but I'm sure you could clip on a folder knife and justify it. Or even a multi purpose tool with a knife. I'm sure almost everyone has a knife of some sort in thier tool box. Plus whats the difference in a knife or a screwdriver? Both can be used to stab. Pepper spray is another consideration. A surefire flashlight will blind them long enough for you to defend yourself or get out of harms way. There are several alternatives to carrying a firearm. Utilize your "weapons of opportunity" if the situation ever arises

...well I took the CCW class just last year, and this did come up, the Instructor told us that it is OK to have in your vehicle, IF you are in the vehicle, dropping the kids off or whatever you might be doing at a school in your vehicle, It is unlawful to carry IN a school or on school grounds. But if you must leave it in your truck, just make sure that it is completely concealed, and dont tell anyone about it. If nobody see's it you should be fine, unless you also have dope in the car and a drug dog hits on it, giving police permission to search.
