Microwave chicharrones??? SERIOUSLY?? Honestly thought what a gimmick when my wife brought them home - was out shopping with girlfriends and saw them. We both love chicharrones so why not try.

DAMN, these are good! Gotta microwave in a brown paper bag but they're popping just like straight outta the fryer! Mix up your own seasoned salt as these are plain but surprisingly good. A little drop or two of Cholula was good on them too. https://www.microwaveporkrinds.com/View attachment 546158
Saw those on Amazon one day and ordered them on a whim. They are really good! Chicharrónes in one hand and a bottle of Tabasco Family Reserve in the other.

I was given a bag of small apples by a family member. I plan on making a lower carb apple cobbler tomorrow. Going to core and slice up the apples then boil them in water, cinnamon and Stevia. Drain then cover them with a Carb Quick crust. More cinnamon and Stevia sprinkled on the top.

I made a peach and Blueberry cobbler a couple weeks ago that came out great.

Ha, did not know what "chicharrones" were by that name, learned a new word tonight. I have been eating these for years. They come in mild or hot. I buy them in a box of 18. Shop around, they have been cheaper from Wal-Greens at times. Atwoods has them at times also. WM online now is $26.64 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lowrey-s-Hot-Spicy-Pork-Rinds-1-75-Oz-18-Count/17299067 I highly recommend them. You do have to stay on top of microwaving them. Plus or minus 10 seconds can make a difference.

French toast the correct way.

I hate the egg washed crap that you get at most places. Here’s my recipe that my wife flips out on.

3- eggs
Flour
Baking powder
Cinnamon powder
Milk
Bread

In a shallow pie pan whip three eggs. Add about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of milk, stir.
Add about 3/4 cup flour, tablespoon of baking powder, tablespoon of cinnamon.
Whip or stir until it has the consistently of pancake batter. The above portions are a guess as I don’t actually measure when I make my batter as I have made it so many times I don’t need to.

In a frying pan add vegetable oil to about 1/4” deep. Heat to about 350 or so.

Toss slice of bread in batter, flip it over and coat both sides. Drop in hot oil and fry until brown and crispy.

We don’t even put butter on these just syrup. Enjoy.

Our favorite syrup that is like finding hens teeth here in OK, is Karo pancake syrup. My brother can find it in Alabama, when we went to SD trail riding a couple years back found it there.
