I drove one of those 750 2 stroke bikes.
Stupid quick out of the hole for sure.
I had a 1985 V65 magna I slightly tweaked and could hit 167 MPH in 3/4 of a mile.
But any longer distance it would not go any faster.
My Nova would hit 176 MPH in the same distance and it was still pulling. That was with a 3.70 rear gear.

Nothing compared to what some of the bikes could do in 1999 before they limited them on top speed.
Kind of dumb to try and out run the cops today.
Those V65 were beasts for their time.

I've never gone 150 mph, but it didn't seem to me like they were overtaking other traffic nearly as fast as I would have expected. Even cars pulling off on the shoulder to stop didn't seem like that much difference. </shrug>

A few years ago the OHP pulled over an 18 wheeler on I44 near Sapulpa that had a dead crotch rocket squid in his helmet stuck to the rear of the trailer with his feet dragging on the pavement. The truck driver had no clue how long he had been stuck on his rig.

Are you talking about Brandon Lee White, who was doing about 125 mph on his motorcycle when he ran into the back of a semi on 169 near Admiral in 2007?

When I was in Germany (1970) I saw a lot of VW Beetle cop cars. I said to someone, how are they going to stop a Porsche? The answer was, you can’t outrun a radio. I’ve always remembered that.
When I was a kid, I heard that if a cop was pulling you over-if you could make it home, they couldn’t give you a ticket in your own yard. That was patently false.

Snopes confirmation of said accident.
