So why is the president finally on board with the hoax. If the context is that all sorts of things kill people, then shouldn't he just go back to saying what he's been saying? Is he crumbling under political pressure?

The talking points and the response actions are not adding up. We are told to just wash hands and use common sense to protect yourself. And yet, we have quarantined areas in NY, sporting events are shutdown indefinitely, conferences and trade shows are shutdown, drive by testing is being setup, and now Trump has declared a national emergency. One of my in-laws reported to my wife today that Muskogee schools have shutdown for 3 weeks.
There is either a serious over reaction occurring or we are not being told the entire the story.
The problem is that so many people are too stupid to be bothered with washing their hands even when going to the restroom, let alone at other times. The "powers that be" realize this.
4:00pm KTEN news just said several schools in Texas are extending their spring breaks as well.
Why haven’t we had this kind of reaction to the flu which apparently effects more people and kills more people than this Coronavirus?
It would be more correct to say he's responding to economic pressures. Let's be honest here, this global health threat is less of a threat to our society than the socioeconomic panic it's fostering. The media and politicians are not doing the country any favors in that regard. What they are getting right is not being heard or is getting passed over by the public in favor of FUDD.
WE are far more of a threat to our overall well being than Covid 19. Prove me wrong.
