I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, but if China is to blame they did a horrible job as the coronavirus did far more damage to the Chinese economy than to anyone else's, as well as the afore mentioned low morbidity and mortality rates.

The conspiracy theorist in my wants to link the January arrest of that Harvard Biochemist and 2 chinese nationals to it. Bioweapon or not, it has been pretty effective at destabilizing economies and disrupting the lifes of millions. Having in-laws in Northern Italy and friends in S. Korea, I can say that we've seen nothing yet. Hopefully they'll get it under control before it gets that crazy here.

Seen that.

Way too coincidental, along with the Chinese protesters.

North Korea has higher mortality rate, supposedly because the goobermint is killing and burning those infected, or believe to be infected. Convenient inconvenience.

I say science fiction, for now. Not a bad idea for someone doing a test run though. Scary stuff.

Wouldn’t it be strange if this was the X-mas present that North Korea was talking about?

It wil more than likely be a long time before the cruise ship industry gets over this virus, no one would want to cruise on a ship that has housed "carriers." Then too, we have the airline industry that has dramatically cut back on flights-plus, they aren't hiring and won't be for some time.

My coworker was bragging today about getting a round trip ticket home to Florida for $177. At that rate, I might be willing to risk it! Wonder what a flight to Hawaii cost right now...

The conspiracy is to kill off all the old people so programs such as Social Security and Medicare don't go broke. Also, to get old people off the road. And, to collect on all their inheritances and life insurance.

Don't remember where I saw it, but that was a conspiracy over why we initially went to Vietnam and the subsequent amount of time we spent there.

Even if it is affecting their own economy, maybe that's the plan. As more tariffs go in place on Chinese imports, their economy gets squeezed a bit more. Maybe this was a move to tank the US economy in time for the election, tossing out the man who presided over it... then they find a cure and get their profit margins back when the new guy takes office. Stinks to high cotton.
