Anyone else find it curious that on one hand "they" are telling us that the sharp decline in flu cases this season is because people are wearing masks and social distancing. While the next story is that we are seeing a sharp increase in covid because people aren't wearing masks and social distancing...

Found out a few days later that two of the folks had active Covid and they knew it but they came anyway. 8 of the adults there came down with the virus.

Wait, what? 2 people had actually been tested and diagnosed with COVID, then came to a family Christmas get-together knowing they were infectious?

So... have these folks been excommunicated from the family and permanently banned from further gatherings?

People are a-holes, seriously. And THOSE people are capital A-HOLES. They would not be welcome at my home anymore.

I'm trying to decide what exactly you find incredulous or inconsistent about this scenario?

Influenza is infectious in the same way COVID is - if you wear a mask, social distance, wash/sanitize your hands, one would expect a decrease in cases. In fact, these are all concepts healthcare professionals have been recommending to reduce infections from influenza and other respiratory viruses for decades, with the masks a relatively rare development in the US, but certainly not worldwide, where SARS infections have been more dangerous (and commonplace) for years.

COVID is a relatively new viral infection with essentially zero community-based herd immunity status or vaccination that can help protect against things like flu year over year...

So now... given all of that absolutely factual and well-documented information - tell me again what it is you're having trouble with?

Clay, if you look at the stuff you've posted on here recently with the utmost certainty, You're kind of on a losing streak.
Just saying... try to be a little less certain.

Why do we know more than the CDC, WHO, etc.? Seems like a lot of money could have been saved if Trump had just checked with us.
Its pretty common sense type stuff to know a mask is only going to protect others because of the shortened distance that your cough or breath will travel. The medical experts said this from day one.
Guess yall werent listening because you were to busy chanting death to america.
