I was driving I-35 today for a couple of hours. I have tire monitoring devices on each tire. Temperature and pressure with nitrogen in the tires.
The tires on the sunny side were getting over 120 degrees with the pressure going from 80 psi to 90.
Pulled into a rest stop with some shade thinking I’d let them cool off for a bit.
Nope, the temps started climbing quickly as there was no air passing over them. Got back on the road to drop them a couple of degrees.
They stayed at 122* until stopping. Parked where the hot side on the road was in the shade, never seeing how much the temp would rise.
Those tire pressure monitors gave info about tires that I never knew existed.
Well, here in Beaverton, Oregon where we are currently working, the temperature is sitting at 73 degrees at almost 8:00 pm. Supposed to be 88 tomorrow, but highs getting back into the mid 70's for a number of days after that. I really wonder if we'll see 88 tomorrow.
