The old Pythons were hand fitted. The new Pythons are mass produced. The tolerances of mass production today may be not that much worse than old hand fitting, but that is the difference in how much personal attention they get.

If the Python is very much below $3000, it's a new Python.

So we got back from an unplanned trip to Vegas at 5:50 this morning and after a few hours of sleep I ran over to the LGS to pick up MY new Colt Python. Now you can imagine my surprise when I found there were two handguns waiting for me. Noooooooo, I’m not spoiled rotten.
