Logically, you should only find the largest seizures at border checkpoints, because those are the only places large smuggling vehicles can cross the border--a semi can't just roll anywhere, it needs solid(-ish) roads. That doesn't mean that the drugs smuggled by other means (smaller vehicles, drones, humans, etc) don't add up to more than what's moving through the checkpoints.

And i have no doubt that emergencies have been declared for a variety of things. I'm saying that right now, in this situation, it appears it's being used as an end run to a political end. If it was truly an emergency then why wasn't it done sooner? Just because he isn't getting his way, doesn't make it 'an emergency'. Congress not going along with his plan doesn't make it 'an emergency', either.

And for the record, i don't object to the wall in and of itself. I object to it from the standpoint that it's cost to value is very low and that nothing is being done to address the actual issues with immigration reform. The 'wall first, reform later' argument is crap and designed to keep the issue on the table for political reasons and not actually fix the situation.

A broken immigration system is a far better rallying point for both parties than one that works would be.

Of course their are more seizures at border checkpoints, becaus LEO’s are always at those checkpoints in force...you can’t seize contraband if nobody is there to seize it? The truth is we don’t really know how much comes across the deserts or through underground tunnels....... I am not saying you are wrong only that we have a lot of clear reasons why the data points to border POE’S show the most seizures.

I didn’t care about the wall unto talking to friends in border enforcement in Arizona, he said a wall would be helpful as it’s a force multiplier for them. It won’t work everywhere but a wall and drones are needed to respond to the border.

So some of the largest seizures have been at border Checkpoints. Say that again and think about it. Then tell me that guys aren't walking across the border with backpacks full of harder drugs. Especially when land owners are finding them on their land and the border patrol finds ditched backpacks constantly.

To the rest... there are several things Trump is doing that should've been done previous to his administration.... and unfortunately during. Republicans are part of the problem too.

Nasty Pelosi just made an outright declaration that amounts to nothing less than her and her ilk's desire to disarm the people of this country to clear the path to accomplish her and her ilk's desire to subjugate us under a communistic/socialistic dictatorship. Their little progressive steps are taking too long and doing to little to advance their goal. They need us disarmed to accomplish that. Obviously, they have studied enough history to know that an armed people cannot be enslaved. Too bad that is where their learning ended.

I believe that the people's predisposition to tolerate abuses so long as abuses are transient is coming to the breaking point. The abuses are becoming non-transient and intolerant. Keep your powder dry.

Stand on the Constitution. Hold those in government to the same standard. Nasty Pelosi and her ilk would and are trying to prevent an uprising (a revolt against the government they wish to impose) rather than governing so that a revolution never becomes necessary. Their refusal to abide the Constitution is all the proof needed to show their nefarious intent. If you say they are just ignorant and stupid, I'd have to agree - that they are ignorant and stupid enough to think they can get away with it, and that We the People are naïve enough to believe and not see through their lies.
