I wonder why not being able to hide is such a touchy subject for "public servants"?

I would certainly hope anyone that harassed anyone or their family would be held accountable for their actions, but posting someone's information is hardly a crime.

BONUS: You can "dox" me in about 10 seconds (if you type slowly) using just the information contained in this post. You won't even have to go to the dark web and can just use a publicly available .gov database. I've made it a goal in life to not be one of those crooked people that has to hide.

I have been DOX’d on Twitter by the Millennial Crowd. These highly politicized, sexually conflicted, intellectually disadvantaged, new-age socialists are either unable (or unwilling) to distinguish between crass sarcasm, ironic humor and serious commentary.....

I'm in at least four public-access .gov databases (two federal, one state, one county), plus a quasi-governmental one (the bar), and no doubt can be found other ways as well.

I was going to say something really crass here, but thought better of it. I will say this: Anyone who posts the phone numbers and addresses of LEO's online needs to be taken to court for creating a threat to their families. In today's media where any police activity, regardless if its justified, is grounds for a public hanging, posting their address online is akin to inviting a SJW to take a pot shot at them. Remember, this isn't just about the officer, its about their families as well. Saying that publishing their private information online is "good" is an idiotic stance to take. My own father has taken down some pretty nasty criminals in the past. What if one of their friends found out where he lived? Whats to stop them from slinging lead at our house?

Yep much better they risk being arrested, paying a huge fine and face possible jail time than to inconvenience you. Sorry guys but the way liquor laws are written only a complete dumba$$ does not play it safe. Grow up.

You could say the same of anyone. I've had cases that have resulted in me going home and cleaning guns.

We need to get over the idea that .gov employees are special super-citizens with rights we mere mortals don't enjoy. Personally, I think the Brandenburg test is a good rule: speech can't be punished unless it is "directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action." Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969).

Like someone on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Twitter feed making jokes about sniping Rep. Scalise? I'm just wondering where the line is... obviously, in Europe you can't say anything negative on The Twitter about "migrants" or anything racial or it is a crime.

Or nooses aimed at Pres. Obama? Or a severed head modeled after Pres. Trump? Yes, the threat has to be credible.

Oh stop, this has nothing to do with being "crooked." Even then, a lot of the time, that's a perception. This is some guy looking for a handout, that lied about his medical status, that couldn't handle being told no. He then turned into an infant.

Either you're being intellectually dishonest or you honestly have blinders on. The problem with "doxing" is that people use that information almost always in a knee jerk reaction. In this situation someone caused undue stress on individuals and tied up the 911 system in the process. It's like giving directions and pitchforks to a mob. You open the door to crazy on someone's family.

Surely people can find out information for themselves, that is true. No need to fuel the fire when people's families are at risk.

Do we now get to call and threaten every aspect of Jason William's life because he falsely represented his status? Maybe we should post where his kids go to school? Where does it end?

So when do I get my special protection for taking away a meth-cooking gang member's kids? I still have to list name, address, and phone number on all of my pleadings, and actively send him a copy.

I'm not trying to defend any of the idiots involved in this case. I simply think doxing is not illegal, and that LEOs deserve the same doxing protections granted to everyone else: none.
