We have something at our house that changes the channel a lot of days during the week to tv land channel 54 here for bonanza. You can be in there watching tv and the tv just changes. I have come in and the tv is off and then turns on to this 54. Pretty crazy. Guess there could be someone close with a powerful remote tunned in, but the tv turning on to this specific channel is weird. Our dogs will also track something quite often going across the room. They will both see it and follow it when there is nothing there. Whatever it is, it never causes any problems and if it wants bonanza that is fine with me.

The TV could be someone with a remote and probably is, but the dogs say something else. Animals pick up many things that humans miss. Sometimes small children do too. If you ever replace the TV with another brand and it does the same thing, I would bet on a ghost of some sort. Until then I would figure on the remote.

I dont really care about the theology or idea behind it... But I think that some people are more open to the spiritual realm than others. And I think God designed it that way for us to be able to tap into ideas and plans for his intended purposes and to talk to us. And the Ghost hunting is the negative version of that same process. You may be talking to stuff but it certainly isnt God! ;)

That's a mouth full on the more sensitive comment. Thought I would give this a bump to see if any other members would "let their hair down".

I don't like color television. Don't like that color for nothin'. Saw 'Bonanza' at my in-laws. It's not for me. The Ponderosa looked fake. Hardly recognized Little Joe.

Generally no. My opinion is that 99% of people that clame to have seen a ghost are FOS.
That being said I offer this.

In Dec. '08 my favorite uncle passed away at the age of 85. WWII vet and life long farmer/rancher. My very special favorite aunt (dad's sister) had Alzhiemer's. Since both of their children had died at an early age (both before the age of 25) myself and a cousin from my dad's oldest sister were the only ones to step up and help out. My older cousin took on most of the business dealings for my aunt as that is what she is good at. I took on the taking care of the 120 acre farm end of things.
My uncle had maintained about 3 acres for their yard and garden. I was spending a couple days a week keeping it mowed and doing the usual general maintenance and upkeep on the place. Mowing was prety much an all day affair between weed control and having to work around several out buildings and many ornamental trees and flower beds.
The farm is remote and I would only rarely have some one come up while I was working, usually a neighbor checking to see who was there.
About every time while I was mowing or working I would think I saw someone out of the corner of my eye and think some one had come up to see what was going on. I'd stop and look around and there would be no one there. Never a creepy feeling about it and even though my aunt was in an assisted living place in town the farm still felt "welcoming".
After my aunt passed on the 4th of July last year I never again "thought I saw someone" and the farm and house just felt "empty" after that.
Maybe it was my uncle waiting around for my aunt or maybe it was just my emotions and imagination.

My grandparents have passed on and my wife and I live in the house they built. My grandmother was a very neat housekeeper and kept the place extremely tidy. We aren't slobs, but we have 2 small kids and work full time so the house is always a wreck.

Well, I haven't seen anything spooky but I'm pretty sure my grandmother is p1ssed off about her house condition. Does that count???

I've had a few strange things happen, nothing worth talking about. One of my closest friends was married to a girl from Loiusiana that swears she had an old black slave lady appear to her as a child from time to time. Her mother had the same experiences as a child also. I was down there visiting one summer and one of the cousins kids came in and asked "Who's the old black lady that lives in the closet?" Those who had childhood experiences with this black lady asked the kid a number of questions and it turns out that this kid was seeing the exact same old black slave lady as the two others had when they were younger. That creeped me out a bit.

We've had this same discussion here a few times before.

I'm a perpetual sceptic of anything paranormal, spiritually abnormal, phenomenal, etcetc. I collect alot of weird stuff too. I read a book once in my teens on debunking the paranormal and psychic phenomena- basically scepticism of most anything that cant be explained- that was written by the magician James (The Amazing Randi) Randi. That book got me into wanting to debunk the paranormal and things that couldnt be explained myself, so it became a hobby. Mr Randi is part of a think tank organization that has had a $1 million dollar challenge on the table for ANYBODY on the planet to come forward with proof of clairvoyancy, hauntings, psychic abilities, healing powers, etcetc. NO ONE so far has shown proof or collected the money. In over 40 years. http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/1m-challenge.html

Ive been on a few 'visits' to supposedly haunted sites with a few different paranormal groups in pretty much every place Ive lived. Since it interests me and is a hobby when I move to an area I set out to seek out paranormal groups. In northern California I went on a few visits with a couple of different groups in and around Sonora and Columbia,Ca- the original Gold Rush areas on Hwy 49. In Iowa I went on a visit to the Villisca murder house site with a group and even spent the night. http://www.villiscaiowa.com/ .In Tulsa when I first moved to the area I joined a group at the time called NEOGHOST and went on some visits- The Brady theatre, Sparkys gravesite, an old hospital, a couple of other places in downtown Tulsa, etc.

So far, I havent experienced anything that cant be explained yet. Even though Im sceptical of it all, Im not going to say it doesnt exist, I just havent experienced it yet.The murder house in Iowa is the closest Ive come though to saying that maybe something is out there, cause that place was pretty freaking spooky, but nothing happened as far as I could tell on my visit. So, Im still sceptical of any of it, and still searching for something weird to happen. Being Agnostic Im also severely sceptical of most spiritual or religious 'phenomena' stories too. As a major horror film/movie fan-atic my favorite movies have always been the psychological spiritual kind like 'The Exorcist' and the recent excellant 'The Rite' with Anthony Hopkins. The Book of Revelations is naturally my favorite book to read in the bible.
