Dog was probably a police K9 dog...just doing what cops do, killing innocent people. It was probably conducting an illegal, warrantless sniff search of the backseat.

Am I the only one who feels incredibly sad for the dog? First, he gets the ever-living **** scared out of him by firing the gun...and then immediately faced with his human dying. Damn. Poor pup.

This is a bad deal, but no matter what was right or wrong gun handling-wise in the event, accidents do happen sometimes.

When my dad was working a guy brought his pointer pup in for vaccinations. Pup was doing what pups do -- crawling and jumping all over everybody and everything ... So fella takes the pup out and puts him in the truck. It was summer. So fella turns truck on, sets AC and goes back inside to pay up ...

Imagine everyone's surprise when fella's truck comes plowing through the front of my dad's waiting room. Puppy happy as a bug in a rug, standing on the gearshift. Daddy said after he cleaned his pants out he immediately started digging around for the plans for a remodel he'd been working in.
Said he actually thanked the guy -- after he'd figured out no one got hurt and everyone was just pretty spooked. Haha!
