Wildhorse creek on skiatook- lots of birds, about 80-100 hunters ringing 3 fields. lots of shooting for everybody.
we arrived at 5:30 thought we would be early until we saw the trucks.
most told me they arrived at 4:00 am to secure a good spot.

Went by myself and got 8 with the sweet 16.

Never heard another shot.

wow looks like you either got em or you didn't, well for everyone that did well good for you. For those that didn't good luck next time. I have had those years where I couldn't buy a bird. Fortunately the last 2 years I have limited out on opening day. I am really starting to like dove hunting. Now its time to wrap em in some bacon and fire up the smokers. mmmmmmmmm

Cook them, run them through a grinder, then mix with refried beans, fresh garlic, finely diced onion, salt, pepper and use as a topper on a ritz cracker. Add jalepeno or crushed red pepper if you like some heat.

Justin_h635 and myself got an invite from a good friend to hunt a place that is usually incredible, and it didn't disappoint. Arrived to find the landowner and his sons sitting at the pond where we usually hunt, told them which end of the pond is usually better and we headed for the back end of the property. It was a dovefest from git go, and didn't take long to limit. Nothing better than the first hunt of the year with friends, a lab who does all the foot work and brought every bird to me plus finding some other hunters dead birds. Retrieved a double and then a single from the pond for the landowner before we left, nice work Mojo!

went out opening day and this morning. Ive seen a total of 30 or so birds, and only have 7 birds in the freezer... getting annoyed. Been taking my 5 year old, and hes excited, but been getting down becuase we arent seeing many birds.
