Played when I was in college early 70's (74-75). Got out of it when the majority of the folks playing were living their lives thru it vicariously.

The final straw was when I killed a guy's character in a pickup game at the student union and the dude about had a stroke. I handed him 3 six sided die and said it's just a game create another character. He about came apart. It warn't just a game to him - it was his entire world outside of class. Lived thru that game. He was his game character.

Too wierd for me.

I do however, play computer RPG's now. Some of 'em are pretty good - with a good story they're especially enjoyable. It's like being able to decide how a novel should play out.

When I was a mere boy, we played the Marvel equivalent. I always liked to use the High-Tech-Wonders... Such as Hawkeye, Batman, Daredevil, Captain America, Gambit etc...

We'd play on a map with these little stand up dudes. It was a blast.

I never played D&D because I've never been a Satanist.

BAHAHA i lol'd so hard at this I peed a little.

But I have never played DnD but I am Definitely trying to. I have a suit of Chain Mail armor and a rogue outfit I wear out to the Norman Medieval Fair, haha if you guys ever want to get a group together and play you can count me in! Though i will need to be taught because i dont know ANY one that still plays it and have about 3 friends that want to!
