A woman who would play D&D? I'm sure you could form a group of 20 players just like that *snap*

... if you don't mind the other 19 players being dorky guys whose closest encounter with the opposite sex was a nighttime dream of Kelly LeBrock in "Weird Science" ;)

Lol this is AWESOME!! My girl plays magic with all my buddys and I. Its crazy to, you wouldnt think that we were the kinda people to get hooked on these game!!

Now dont even tell me that you would think that she wins about every 3 magic rounds and that I would have a full matching chain mail armor set along with a rogue outfit bahaha. Lol i may be a dork but i have definitely had a closer encounter than that if ya know what im saying :rubhands::blush:

You would be surprised who actually plays these types of games, In just the last year that I have played warhammer 40k I have played with lawyers, doctors, teachers, to highschool kids. Its all about what you would enjoy, I just have a broad range of hobbies, Always been a avid hunter and fisherman growing up on a farm, but really got into Muds on computer, which turned into mmorpg's (UO,Everquest, WoW) and after I got tired of social interaction from a keyboard I started doing the same thing tabletop face to face.

I played D&D a long time ago. I wouldn't mind playing again but working for the railroad seems to limit getting together on a regular basis with a group of people. I do play a few different miniature wargames.

This is an M1A1 that I assembled, modified, and painted a while back.

Yes, I'm a grown up nerd and I don't have a problem with it.

Man I mis D&D, Middle Earth, Wooden Ships and Iron Men, Car Wars, Travelers(sci-fi based RPG), and mech warriors... DEATH FROM ABOVE!. I played a lot when I was in HS and tried unsuccessfully a few times to get a group of gamers going 18~20 years ago.

OMG, I forgot all about Mech Warrior! We did play that a few times, but it was more complicated. But I loved the whole battle mech thing. Bought the Mech Warrior games for PC and those are still some of my favorites.

Well back to the question from the OP. I do not play DnD. I used to have way to many table top RPG's. DnD still exists in table top form, however many compliments to the books and such can be found and used on the internet. At one point in time you could play via a chat program.

For the RPG people out there here is a list of games I had at one point in time during my younger days.

DnD, ADnD, Mech warrior, Robotech, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Twilight 2000, Gamma World, Boot Hill (I wish I still had that game), Rifts, plus some more I can not remember.

We have a game going right now, actually. We play roughly once or twice a month, depending on who has the on-call phone from work.

Four of the six of us are shooters as well. One guy hunts fairly regularly. Another is an amateur photographer who is close to turning pro. Three of us are IT guys. Myself and our DM support airports world wide. In our spare time we also wrench on our Jeeps and drink beer. My wife is one of the players; she's a teacher. The other gal is an aspiring pastry chef.

As someone mentioned, the stigma of the 'nerds only' players isn't the case anymore, and hasn't been for several decades. Mind you, there are plenty of people that bring that cliché to life, but it isn't the majority.

Tabletop is nothing more than multiple person story telling with a bit of chance thrown in to mix things up.

mech warriors... DEATH FROM ABOVE!

Cheers sir, I haven't played Battletech in decades, but it was always damned fun.
