Is there a difference now? I didn't know it if they changed the recipe.
Changed the recipe in the early 70’s. Watered it down.
I knew they did because that was a staple on our table growing up. Two or three drops and it was hot. Now have to drown the eggs with the current recipe for the same heat level.
My suspicions were confirmed when we toured the Tabasco factory on Avery Island.
Asked the lady at the “company store” if it had been changed over the years and confirmed that it had.
The original recipe is still available though in one place and one place only.
That company store on the island.
They do sell it on Amazon, called Family reserve. Thick and creamy like back in the day. I bought several bottles of it.
Available on Amazon. There is a huge difference in taste.

70s hu, that's before I was using it. I would have been 5 or 8 maybe lol. Try the Tobago Scorpion, that will fire ya up. 2 or 3 drops in a bowl of beans or chili will make ya talk in tongues lol
Too hot for eggs but I may try it in my raw eggs tomorrow just to see.

I’ve tasted every sauce they make while on that tour. Put that scorpion on vanilla ice cream. Just a drop or two. You can thank me later.

All that someone in the FDA has to do is say that we have a disease associated with cattle and they'll go out and kill a few cows and suddenly there will be a massive shortage of beef and prices will go up dramatically. Eggs same thing. It could be actually part of a conspiracy designed to raise prices and control the populace. I sure wouldn't put it past this administration.
