Good times. My grandson caught a 6.2# channel cat on his little Scooby Doo rod when he was five. I helped him very little. I don't know which one of us had more fun. I'll have to see if I can find some pics to post. Enjoy every minute with that young 'un. They grow up WAY too fast!
Unfortunately this is one of few pics that turned out. It was dark by this time had to use a flashlight just to see to remove the hook. This was the obligatory convince the kids to touch the fish hold.

That is the daddy is scared to touch the fish, he is using a towel to hold it look.

This summer I caught an 8 pound hybrid on an ultralight. It got my 15 year old to quit climbing the rocks and grab a pole. Sadly he didn't catch anything. He likes to fish when they are hitting, but doesn't like to wait for a bite.
