I have different ones for different applications but my current favoraite is a Sig 229 with CT grips (It'a coincidentaly the newest)
As for me, I like 1911s but don't own one (YET). I have tried several Glocks and I do believe them to be a good, solid reliable platform, I just can't get used to the feel or the trigger. I shoot like crap with them, don't like the way they look and I ALWAYS have issues with the trigger safety.

M&P .45. Almost a dead heat with the 1911 though. Had to go with the M&P because it simpler (no safeties to fiddle with) and it's superior mag capacity.
But S&W revolvers win the reliability battle hands down....

I'll have to say that I'll take my Steyr M9 over any Glock any day!
I find it funny although not surprising considering who started this thread that the XD is not an option.
But like it or not its my vote, I have 2, and love them both. Glocks are good guns but I'd rather have either my 45 compact XD or XDM9 over one any day.
