Yep. And they'll sing the praises of the 1911 like it was sent from the heavens.

I carry Colt commanders quite a bit, especially in this kind of weather. I don't feel out/under gunned at all. With the Lord willing I'll never have to use one of em but with his help and if I do I plan on hitting my target and make it a done deal. So to answer the questions I like the 4.25 barrel and doesn't bother me about single or ambi safety as I have both. I prefer the light weight model Colts just because of a bad back but I will carry both models.

I don't like ambi safeties especially on a carry pistol. I carry a 3" officers model every day and there is a big difference in carrying a 3" and 4" mainly due to the smaller grip on the 3" models more so than the shorter barrel. 5" government models are great for the range so imo theres not really a one size fits all when it comes to 1911's.

I'm a pretty good size lad with large hands and longish fingers and depending on the gun sometimes ambi safeties get in the way and make me change my natural hold.....I own four 5" full size stainless 1911's and none have the ambi safety.

All four of my 1911's came from the factory with white three dot sights and my old eyes pick them up really well.

@tkdgeek I'd look at the four I currently own......they all shoot well and their cost won't break the bank.
