This is my Wife's 10-22

Mattie is a 4" Nickel plated S&W Model 34,,,
I named her after Mattie Ross of True Grit fame.
My best friend passed away this past february,,,
This was the one pistol she always took when we went shooting.
On her 11th birthday her father took her to a local gun store,,,
He told her to pick out any .22 revolver she wanted,,,
This is the gun she chose for her present.
I asked her why she chose that one,,,
She replied, "It was shiny!".
Anyways I was assisting her brother find and store her guns,,,
I told him that if this didn't have any particular sentimental value,,,
That I would like to buy the gun so I could have a token to remember my friend with.
He just handed it to me and said she would have wanted me to have it.
He also gave me the Mossberg .22 rifle she used on her high school rifle team,,,
I named the rifle Matilda because it means Powerful Battler.
Two excellent guns,,,
Two excellent memories.
