Or that some guns just don't like some ammo.....
Which is sad. Your correct though.
Evidently the manufacturers are not building the ammo to the same specifications so they would be consistent?
Shooting Steel Challenge for about 10 years with the same firearm now steers me away from the three brands the OP stated.
Pretty much CCI HV which goes off every time.
As an RO at the matches, I've seen the same failures with every one of the brands the OP mentions.

2 different arguments / observations / rants happening here.

1. Arms that don't like the the ammo

2. Inconsistent or BAD ammo

It seems the majority of shooters bad mouth Thunderbolts. When my boys were small, I bought 2 of the then new, Daisy Model B (now the Cricket). Along with a case of Thunderbolt. 1 Daisy patterned like buckshot. The other, like a target rifle. Not a dud in that case.

On the other hand, bought 500 rounds of Federal Auto Match. Had 6 squids, 2 bullets stuck in barrel, in less than 100 rounds. Contacted Federal, they asked to get ammo sent back. A month later, they sent me 1000 rounds. The ammo was CRAP.
