Have several .22s, but this little gem. Not fancy, not valuable, but very special.

My F-i-L bought it 67 yrs ago. It had not been out of the closet in 50 yrs. He gave it to me, last month.

I tore it down, oil and dust extremely gunked up. Sanded the stock down and sprayed 3 coats of satin poly. IMG_20150930_204709.jpgIMG_20150930_210023.jpgIMG_20150930_204653.jpgIMG_20150930_202538.jpg

It is a Sear's; J. C. Higgins bolt action. Chrome bolt, chrome metal trigger guard, and extremely good wood.

Though a cheap .22, quite refreshing in this day of plastic and plain wood.

Shot it Saturday and standing, at 25 yrds, 8 shots on a playing card. Would equate to 8 squirrels in the pot.

From a rest, 5 shots, quarter size.

I can live with this and be very happy.
