Honestly, I have heard they are really high in protein and not that bad. There is just something about eating a bug ... kinda like eating an MRE.

Well hell, how about the prep details (recipe) along with pics? You did shoot pics before you let the kids smack on all of them, right? 
Wonder if you could do that with June bugs?? They are crunchy and the cats like them ...
those are definitely plentiful round these parts - but they are awfully juicy when squished....be like a warm blast of goo when ya bite into it...

Recipe:
Catch 'em.
Gently pull the heads off...guts come out with the head
Boil in water for 3 minutes...legs/wings come off easier and kills any bacteria
Coat in flour and crisp 'em up in a frying pan with butter
Dip 'em in honey
Very crunchy and the big ones were actually meaty...tasted a little like peanuts to me.
Serve 'em up to GC for dinner tomorrow BB...

Peanuts, huh?? Now I am intrigued ... I wonder if you used whole wheat flour with a little cornmeal if that wouldn't add to the "nutty" taste ...
