*snip* Holy crap I hate people who have to say something when they have no idea. *snip*

No kidding ...

Although my personal favorites are the following comments made to me by Academy employees:

1. .357SIG and .357Mag are the same thing ... you don't have a clue what you are talking about do you, little lady? (I am neither stupid, nor little, although I was pleasantly surprised to hear someone call me a "lady" ... ;) )

2. I asked for a CASE of 9mm Blazer. The counter guy put a BOX of ammo on the counter to which I said "That's great ... I need about 19 more of those, please." His eyes bugged out of his head and he said "Do you KNOW how much ammo that is?" to which GC responded "Sure she does. That'll last her about a week or so." He never took his eyes off me the rest of the time we were back there ...

Heard an Academ-idiot tell a customer that 9mm luger would not work in his 9mm and then recommended +p ammo. I asked for a box of 45 LC and was given a box of 45 ACP.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but yes, almost every time I am in one particular store someone behind the gun counter has incorrect 'facts' they pass along to a customer.

I have trained a lot of women over the past 2.5 years and have learned a lot. I take particular issue with the incorrect information they pass on to women.

I had a woman student come to me with a HD 20 gauge pump. She said the reason she bought it was because the salesman, an older gentleman, told here that she did not even need to point the thing or be accurate with it, that the pattern would be so big she could not miss. Well, we proceeded to place targets at HD distances; 12', 15', 20', and shot buckshot at the target. When she saw that the pattern was between 1.5 and 3.0 in diameter, i explained to her that, 'yes, you could miss the center of mass or even miss a bad guy entirely. So lets now learn how to shoot this shotgun."

I have been impressed with the some of the guys at Academy on 41st as they have given out in my opinion some very sound info to customers.

On the flip side, you should try working behind one of those gun counters some time. You hear some WACKY stuff from some WACKY people. It doesn't take long before you just want to go work in another department. This isn't a defense of morons, just an observation that they occupy both sides of the counter.

I couldn't agree more. I would refuse to sell guns or ammo to some of the people I've seen around gun counters.

Ask about defense ammo.
"That will go through anybody"
MFW defense ammo is supposed to have LESS penetration.
