Did anyone go to the gun show this weekend? It was a little RK show. I went for a little bit this morning, couldn't see anything I couldn't live without. I brought a couple guns to sell and you should have seen the look on the dealer's faces when I told them my price. It was as if they took a bite out of a lemon. I had a dealer offer me more on my G17 than somebody offered me in the classifieds.

One vendor last show had OSBI marked Springfield XDMs in .40 but he was sold out. I wanted one for my PD marked gun collection, but it wasn't to be. I had no idea the OSBI carried XDMs.
Used to be Glock 21, 17 and 19 before the XDM and XD. Now Glock 17, 19 and 45 MOS models. The XDs went to GT Distributors so he might have got those from them.

I've rarely been able to sell ANYTHING to a dealer. They naturally wanna buy low and sell high. I never go on Saturday only Sunday because on Sunday if they've sold a lot they have cash to buy and if they haven't they're more eager to sell. I seldom go anymore though except for Wannemachers and then just to get and idea of what I want, prices are ALWAYS way cheaper online. I think half these dealers just wanna show off their crap and bs with their chums all day. The prices are often comical and even at that I think some of them would balk if they had to part with one of their babies. Every year the shows become more like museums and less like someplace commerce actually takes place. I will tell you this, the last time I listed a gun on here I was told it was overpriced by some and severely low balled by others and a dealer met me at the door and paid my full retail price instantly without even trying to chisel me, but that says a lot more about selling here than about gun shows. This is a great place for info and chat but buying or selling here is quite the farce.

@GorillaG You are missing out on one of the great parts of being an OSA member. I have bought and sold many firearms here since I became a member in 2010, and every transaction has been excellent, not only the physical transfer of a firearm, but it gave me the opportunity to meet some super folks. Members here are some of the best people you will meet in the firearm hobby.

I've had some great encounters here it's not this place in particular that annoys me, it's the attitude of certain typical gun transactions which I find all too common. Someone else stated it in a post, I paraphrase: "everything I have is crap, junk, garbage and wildly overpriced, everything they have is a steal, and bargain, vastly underpriced and either soon to be banned or the most over used word in firearm history....rare" I've made a few good sales here as anyone can see my feedback and interactions here are very positive. As I've said before the site is great for exchanging topics and ideas, information, socializing. I just don't find it very good for buying or selling and I'm kinda surprised that such large forum has so little of it actually taking place. Half the ads are ancient with seldom a price reduction.
