Memes are great when truthful. When carved from deceit they are the stumbling blocks of our society. How many people bought that? How many people now have misinformed ideas? Huh? Don't tell me to lighten up because I want to believe that we are better than that.

Abundantly clear to me that it's pointless for me to engage with you. I'm sorry I did so.

Have a great day. Don't let all the bad memes out there ruin the rest of your week.

If people believe that meme is factual, they are ignorant beyond help.

edit - oh yeah, LIGHTEN UP

I've never once had my week ruined by memes in the wild or the dumb on here.

But hey, at least we agree that Boebert is an idiot with no place in Congress!

I think you're right about the %'ages of the power grid in Texas. It isn't the loss of the wind that has caused the problem. That doesn't mean that wind isn't an ignorant idea, based not in reality but in feelings. Any power source that can't product enough power to manufacture itself is doomed to failure. Any money, any, spent on wind is wasted money. It could have been spent increasing fossil capacity and improving infrastructure.

Is it disinformation, yeah, people are stupid. Disinformation is how they've advanced the green energy platform. It's politics. The vast majority of this country is ignorant of the facts of almost everything except who won American Idol or what the Kardashians ore doing, of what some moron posted on the tweeters or faceplace. It is what it is, and you have to fight fire with fire. Disinformation is the way politics is now done, and here's the deal, I no longer give a **** if my side wins fairly or not. I just want to win.

The left's idea of Green energy is a stupid idea. Full stop.

The meme isn't supposed to be factual, it's supposed to be funny. That picture has been around for a long, long time. Why do people think it was taken recently in TX? See my diatribe above for the answer. People are stupid.

I've said it before, but it's worth tossing out there again. Giving up never leads to success.

There was a time people said coal would never replace wood. "Why pay to dig underground when free trees are out my back door?"

There was a time people said natural gas would never replace whale oil.

There was a time people said electricity would never replace gas.

Steam power will never replace hydropower.
Diesel tractors will never replace steam tractors.
Imagine where we'd be if they gave up on the internal combustion engine in the early days when one horse could pull four or five times as much.

It's easy to bash new power technologies in their shortcomings while they're this young. Fossil fuels date back to the 1700's. Of course we've made strides, but if people then had this give up attitude, we'd all still be burning wood.

Giving up on wind is giving up on technology that is hundreds of years old. It isn't moving forward, it's moving backward.

Wind is stupid, and it is doomed to fail. Full stop. If you think wind is even a start of an answer, you don't understand wind or electricity generation.

I don't think that the problem is new technology or new ways to do things.

My problem is when someone says "you will replace existing working technology and methods in 10 years with unproven technology and methods, period. Doesn't matter if the new pathway works or not, or is more expensive, but 10 years from now, it will be all you can use".

Much different is a new technology is so good that it gradually replaces an older technology and is proven along the way.

Does the government not provide subsidies to coal, oil and NG?
AFAIK, the only "subsidies" they provide are tax breaks. Saying "I'm not going to steal as much of your money" is not that same thing as "I'm going to give you money," no matter how much people try to spin it that way. The fact that almost nobody will fight that particular bit of newspeak is a testament to how far down the toilet we really are.

What? Are you nutz? We've only got like 10 years left to save the planet. We have to do this to save the planet for Greta.

Are you implying we should wait until something comes along that is better to replace what we have now? Like the automobile replaced the horse or the train replaced the stage coach? We can't possibly do that. It's horses and stage coaches for everyone! Right now!

My biggest complaint against wind energy is the eye sore it causes to the landscape.

I've got a friend that works in the industry. You think they look bad, you should see what they are doing to the migratory bird populations.

He told me a long, long time ago; there are 2 kinds of people that support wind energy; those that are going to make money off of it and those that don't understand it. He's an engineer. He builds and maintains them. They have no long term sustainable future. They also have a horrible impact on the environment, from cradle to grave, they are horrible for the world in which we live.

I hope you live long enough to be proven wrong my friend.

We would have never made it to the moon with that outlook.

I agree. I'm a fan of the smaller single dwelling type turbines. Something that you'd put up on a business or home. They do have a new wind powered friction generator though. Looks like a lamp post, placed along side the roads.
