Ha, this one will probably get some interesting responses. But urine is sterile, so unless you keep your unmentionables the same way you keep a landfill, there is no need to wash your hands. Going numero dos is another story. The natural bacteria growing in the doo can be bad for you, so you definitely need to wash after that. One's a play ground and the other is a sewage treatment plant, i'll leave it at that.

Ha, why is this on a shooting forum again?

It is true that it is sterile, but it is also a great media for bacterial growth, so you want to wash it off before stuff starts growing.

Actually, it is not a good media for bacterial growth at all. Urine is mostly water, urea, and electrolytes lacking really any good sources of energy such as carbohydrates that can be broken down to glucose. So unless the bacteria has the ability to affix nitrogen, such as the bacteria in root nodules, it will have a difficult time living in the media unless a source of nutrients is provided. Not to mention the subject of ion concentration and the problems that could arise from osmosis.

Ha, i finally have an opportunity to use my 6 years of college science background

Urine doesnt matter. You touched your wigglestick... and if you didnt... then I still need to talk to you about why:

A.) there is a puddle of urine under the urinal and I have to take a leak while doing the spanning bridge leg split...

or

B.) you have to set down to pee like a girl?

I rarely touch my "gun". I unzip, pull my boxers out a little bit and "scoop" it up with elastic band. Then I manuever the band so my aim is correct. I don't do this for sanitary reasons, I have done it as long as I can remember. I wash probably 50% of the time

The real question is how many people use warm water and soap vs just running water over your hands?

Ha, the environment you are in is a completely differnent story. If you're stopping at the Loves on I-35 by Paul's Valley, then hell yes wash your hands. There's probably poo all over the mirror.

Your "wigglestick" by itself is not going to carry any harmful bacteria by itself. It's bacteria that naturally grows there is part of the normal human flora(naturally occuring bacteria) that is on your entire body.

Fun little edit that might ruin you lunch, the organism that grows between your toes and causes your feet to stink (Propionibacterium) is the same organism that causes european cheeses to smell funky. Enjoy the swiss.

Dumb observation but some of you guys seem to have really dirty wiggle sticks, soap and water goes along way to keeping it cleaner.... :)

Plus a clean wiggle stick is more likely to get appreciation from your someone special.... :laugh6:
