I never wash my hands unless they are visibly dirty or I have been handling uncooked meat. This is probably why I am never sick. My body is immune to germs from fighting them in small doses my whole life.

I was my hands an insane amount, especially in the winter. Every single time I come home I wash my hands. If I have to use a public restroom, I try to make a plan to wash my hands and open the door with a paper towel.
If the public restroom is extra nasty and no plan is sufficient, I will just make a break for it and not wash them because my own germs are better than extra nasty public restroom germs, or standing there smelling some dude crap.
You should be more concerned with washing your hands after being in public than after taking a leak. Been shopping? Go straight to the sink and wash your damn hands.
I also hate shaking dirty (not grease and dirt, but nasty ass germy people) people's hands, and will avoid it Doc Holiday style unless I absolutely have to.

If I touch a door handle or toilet, my hands are washed. If I'm just at home, I have no shame in saying that a) I know where Admiral Grande has been and b) anytime I touch the toilet, it's with a piece of toilet paper in my hand. So normally no washy-washy at home.
