yes the tax burden would be to high, I have to also pay yearly and quarterly licensing fees, should I also be taxed on top of these fees? That tax is crazy because basically it can be used to tax ideas, you wanna start paying taxes on ideas? I don't and I don't want you to have to either.
How much of a burden does this add to you today? What are some of the ways this has been misused already?

clients would not have to pay, I would have to pay a tax just for having a list of clients, does that make sense to you?
Are you charged for the list today? How much? I know Oklahoma businesses where their entire business revolves around selling lists of consumers. Their (digital) consumer lists are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars... should they be exempt from paying taxes on that list, while you continue to pay tax on your physical inventory?

Please, your patronizing attitude really sucks? I mean really, wtf are you my daddy? No your not so just quit.
I was trying to turn this into an opportunity for you to really get out there and explain to everyone why they should vote yes to SQ766. You chose to be a jerk. Deal with it.

Personally I'm voting yes to SQ766, but I knew that before I opened the thread.

this particular tax doesn't take effect until 2013
as far as being taxed already on I am not however if those taxes are implemented : I will use client lists for instance- I do not nor would I ever sell my client lists that is not my business it is not a product that I provide, so No I do not feel that I should pay taxes on an internal list that I use for my personal business contacts, If I make a sale off of a client I pay income tax I should not be double taxed unless I make two sales then I would pay income tax on the second sale & so on.... there is no way right now for me to determine as a business owner how much a given assessor is going to decide how much value to put on my intangibles (lists are not all I have there are many more but for the sake of argument that is what were using)

as far as companies that sell lists, that is their business model, they are taxed through income tax as well, so no I do not believe that they should have to pay an additional tax just for possessing the lists.

as for me being a jerk
you just can't help but lecture me can you. It's comical. All I did was post my opinion and you got your panties in a bunch and personally attacked me, ironic since you also went after someone else about personally attacking you, which imo they didn't but you seem a bit sensitive and since I don't make it a habit to eat **** sandwiches well... here we are in this uncivil- civil discussion. It's oddly entertaining to me. I almost like you, I feel like im in bizzaro world.

So there's no current harm, you're just trying to prevent misuse of something that's coming down the line. Do you know for sure that your client lists will be taxed? What else will be taxed "for sure" in 2013? Is your county self-reporting like Oklahoma County?

And you're comfortable that they will be exempt for, say, $300,000 in digital inventory while someone with $300,000 in tangible property gets a tax burden?

client lists are just an example of what could be taxed, so yet I am trying to prevent the misuse of something that is coming down the pike, I do not like taxes that are how should I say this...not totally defined.

No I am not comfortable with that because I am not comfortable with someone getting 300k in tangible tax burdens period, regardless of the business model.

If some company has 300k in digitial inventory and that digital inventory is what they make their profit on then they are already being taxed on said profit so no I would not be in favor of double taxing that company even if this tax was put into place and the other company had 300k in tangible tax burdens. Im not in favor of double taxation ever.
