Sorry about your troubles Barrister, that Really does suck, especially from a .."reliable" company.
How can that Not be a factory defect?

Is the barell the only propriety part or is the gun as a whole this way?

Yeah, this is BS. You can be assured that if your rifle belonged to Mr. Miculek, it'd be replaced by now...regardless of how it got blown up. This is a douche move by S&W.

You know, Im not even demanding VIP treatment, or for them to fix it for free, or anything like that. All I want is to be able to buy the part I need to get it back working. I guess they expect everyone to just buy another $1000 rifle every time something breaks. This is the most piss poor product support I've ever seen from a gun company. I have dealt with Marlin and Ruger in the past, and both were fantastic and had parts in the mail immediately.

The nuthin Fancy guy recently post 2 flowery youtube video's on the same rifle! Thanks for the heads up this. This particular rifle was on my short list for a 308 this year.

Glad you posted this (and I read it), as Grabagun in TX has them on sale for $999 and free shipping, and I was tempted.

I'll stick with the FAL and G3.
