How do you deal with a senile gun owner?

We recently encountered this situation with my dad. They live on our property and I told him I needed to keep his guns in our safe to keep them from being stolen. We did leave one gun with him and my mother keeps the ammo in a seperate location. I just explained it was the best situation for everybody. At first he was mad and later agreed it was the best.

Praying for you on this. It's a very tough situation whenever you have to make those types of decisions, but you need to find a way to work through the emotional aspect of it and make the right judgement and take the right action.

Ps. On the flips side, good luck to any whippersnappers wanting taking mine when I'm old though... I'll be like the last Texan at the Alamo.
