I was going to suggest the same thing, we had a leak where the roof met the chimney on our house. It was originally flashed, but time makes most flashing fail. Cricket installed and problem solved.
I had a guy roof my house several years ago and I told him that the valley wasn’t supposed to be walked on. He said, “like this” as he stepped into the valley. Really irritated me that he was that stupid.
