USGI wood is not getting any cheaper, especially wartime and pre-war examples. If the stock has been refinished well, the value isn't deminished much. Most WWII or earlier wood has gone through one or more arsenal refurbs, so finding untouched furniture is not an easy task. Some of the most expensive USGI stocks that you'll see sold have been repaired and/ or refinished by Rick Borecky.
Rick is the best authenticator of USGI stocks for M1 rifles and carbines. He was able to acquire the remaining inventory of the "barn" stocks and IYKYK what that means.

The butt tells the story. Small screw holes top and bottom put it in the GHS/early EMcF range. The fore end stamps, channel stamps, trigger guard cut and other features are unequivocal. Lend Lease is a stretch since the cartouches are gone. Those were typically very strongly struck and this one is clearly refinished. It is correct for a particular era of M1 restorations but that's it.
